1. How are Zombie Villagers Created?
Zombie Villagers are primarily generated in two ways: First, regular zombies have a 5% chance to spawn directly as Zombie Villagers. Second, when a villager is attacked by a zombie, the conversion chance depends on the game difficulty—0% on Easy, 50% on Normal, and 100% on Hard. In future versions, Drowned using a trident to kill a villager will also have a chance to create a Zombie Villager, which is a mechanism specific to newer versions.
2. What Materials are Needed to Cure a Zombie Villager?
Curing a Zombie Villager requires preparing the following two core materials:
- Splash Potion of Weakness: Can be crafted using a Brewing Stand, requiring materials like Blaze Powder, Gunpowder, a Water Bottle, and a Spider Eye.
- Golden Apple: Crafted using 8 Gold Ingots and 1 Apple in a Crafting Table.
Note: During the curing process, it is also essential to ensure a safe environment. It is recommended to prepare protective facilities like fences or walls to prevent interference from other mobs during the treatment.

3. What are the Specific Treatment Steps?
- Apply the Weakness Effect: Target the Zombie Villager and use a Splash Potion of Weakness (or a Lingering Potion / Arrow of Weakness) on it until black smoke particles appear around it.
- Feed the Golden Apple: Immediately right-click the Zombie Villager with the Golden Apple. Red particle effects and smoke will appear.
- Wait for the Conversion to Complete: The entire process takes approximately 4-5 minutes. During this time, the Zombie Villager will continuously emit special sounds. When the sounds stop and its appearance returns to that of a normal villager, the cure is successful.
4. What are the Precautions During the Treatment Process?
- Environmental Protection: The villager being cured can still take damage from sunlight, so ensure they are in a sheltered environment.
- Time Control: The process from feeding the Golden Apple to complete recovery requires continuous waiting and should not be interrupted.
- Material Quantity: It is advisable to prepare multiple sets of potions and Golden Apples in case multiple attempts are needed.
5. What are the Characteristics of a Cured Villager?
A cured ordinary villager can trade normally. Upon completing a trade, they will emit particle effects and gain a 10-second Regeneration status effect (restoring a total of 4 hearts). Continuously curing multiple Zombie Villagers can effectively increase the village population, providing players with a richer selection of trades.
6. How to Prevent Villagers from Becoming Zombies Again?
In Hard difficulty, zombies can break down doors to attack villagers. It is recommended to replace wooden doors with stone walls and ensure the village is well-lit. Automatic trapping devices like trapdoors can be set up to effectively control zombie movement ranges.
